Mrs. Adelung has been teaching second grade for 17 years in Plumsted Township School District. She loves teaching second grade and all of her students. Mrs. Adelung, formerly Miss Stansbury, did her student teaching in Plumsted in 3rd grade, took over a maternity leave replacement for Mrs. Rodriguez in 4th grade, and also taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in Avon for a few months before getting her permanent job in second grade. She graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in 2003, with a degree in Elementary Education, and a concentration in English.
Mrs. Adelung has been happily married for 10 years to her police officer husband, Mike. They welcomed their first son, Caden in December of 2010. Caden is 8 and going into third grade. They also have a daughter, Michaela, who was born in April of 2013. Michaela is in first grade this year. Another big part of their family is their dog, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Bee. Mike, Courtney, Caden, Michaela, and Bee live in New Egypt.
Mrs. Adelung comes from a family of 6. Her parents have been married for more than 45 years. She has 1 sister, Megan. Megan is married with 2 children and works at an advertising firm in New York City. Mrs. Adelung also has 2 brothers, Ryan and Dan. Ryan is a Special Education teacher in Wall, NJ. Dan is a recruiter. Family is an important part of Mrs. Adelung's life.
