Technology Device Use Agreement

The use of technology devices in the Plumsted Township School District is an important part of supporting student learning. Students are encouraged to use district-issued devices responsibly, respectfully, and appropriately at all times. These devices are valuable tools for education and should be handled with care.

By accepting a district-issued device, students and their parents/guardians agree to the following terms:


Device Care & Return

  • Any district-provided device loaned to a student must be returned in the same condition it was issued, accounting for normal wear and tear.
  • Device condition will be assessed periodically and at the end of the school year by the Technology Department and Administration.

Damage & Loss

  • All device damage will be evaluated by the District Technology Specialist to determine the extent and cause.
  • Parents/guardians or students are financially responsible for the replacement cost of any device or its components if they are:
    • Lost
    • Stolen
    • Abandoned
    • Missing
    • Damaged beyond reasonable use
    • Not returned
  • Replacement costs will be charged at the current market rate.
  • Physical damage to screens may require full device replacement.

Usage Guidelines

  • No stickers or sticker residue are allowed on the device or case. Violations may result in a replacement charge.
  • Suspected theft must be reported immediately:
    • File a police report within 1 school day.
    • Email the building principal with the report attached.
  • Hardware or software issues must be reported promptly:
    • During school hours, notify the main office in your child’s school building.
